QR codes should first be defined: QR is short for Quick Response. They are essentially a matrix code, a two dimensional (2D) code designed to work with the emerging technologies of the internet as its data source and more recently, the mobile phone as a distribution option. The system is triggered by software that interprets a camera shot of the code into an internet source code. That source code accesses a data base for distribution of the data requested.
